Dr. Mikamo is a licensed clinical psychologist and licensed medical psychologist, Board Certified Coach, author & speaker, and educator.
She is president of US-Japan Psychological Services and president of San Diego-Worldwide Initiative to Safeguard Humanity (San Diego-WISH).
As a psychologist and coach, Dr. Mikamo helps individuals, couples, and families in a variety of life circumstances with the highest level of respect and care, utilizing her expertise and customizing her approaches to best meet the needs of her clients and patients. Dr. Mikamo also provides consultation for families, mental health/ educational/medical/legal professionals, and organizational leaders.
Dr. Mikamo’s expert areas include psychoeducational assessment and consultation, psychological and forensic evaluation, individual/couples/family psychotherapy, multicultural psychology, executive assessment and leadership development, organizational assessment and consultation, performance psychology, and sport psychology.
As an educator, Dr. Mikamo has been directly involved in the doctoral and master level graduate education in clinical and educational psychology at California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University and School of Education and Leadership Sciences at University of San Diego. For the public, she has been educating and inspiring the audience on the topics of parenting, personal growth, stress management, team building, effective communication and negotiations, multicultural interpersonal and organizational relationships, couples and families’ healthy relationships, human development (including child-adolescent and older adult issues), and other topics.
For over 20 years, Dr. Mikamo has also worked with many multinational organizations and leaders in the United States, Canada, Central & South Americas, Asia, Europe, and Middle East to take their leadership and management skills to the next level. Dr. Mikamo offers action-oriented coaching and consultation, whether focusing on leadership behavior, personal management, or organizational visions and directions.
She is the author of Rising from the Ashes: A True Story of Survival and Forgiveness from Hiroshima” and is the chief editor of the Japanese version of “Finding Your Zone: Ten Core Lessons for Achieving Peak Performance in Sports and Life” (by Michael Lardon).
Dr. Mikamo provides messages through her keynote speaking, seminars, and writing based on her academic and professional knowledge and experiences toward the global human well-being and peace.
in 2014, Dr. Mikamo received the Award for Exceptional Services for World Peace and Humanity from The World Peace and Prosperity Foundation for her messages to promote resilience and forgiveness through her book (Rising from the Ashes) and international speaking engagements.
